Quick guide: Trading

You buy shares in the outcome you think will happen. If it does, each share pays $1, less a small settlement fee. Everything runs in USDC on Base, and every Buy and payout is on-chain.

1. Sign in

Enter your email and confirm it, or tap Continue with Google. There is no password and no browser extension.

A wallet is created for you at first sign-in. It holds your USDC and your positions. Two things to know on day one:

  • Your email is your account. Use the same email every time, by code or with Google. A different email gives you a different account and a different wallet.
  • Keep access to your email or Google account. It's how you sign in and approve every Buy. ULTRAMINT can't sign for you or move your money.

You also confirm you're 18 or over and accept the Terms of Service.

2. Add USDC

Go to Funds, then Deposit. You have three options:

Send native USDC on Base only. USDC from another network, bridged USDC or other tokens sent to your address are lost for good. If you're unsure, send a small amount first.

You never need ETH for gas. Ultramint pays the network fee on every Buy and claim.

3. Find a market

  • Browse by category, or open a market someone shared with you.
  • Swipe for one market at a time. Swipe right for Yes and left for No, then review and buy them all at once. Nothing is spent until you confirm.
  • Towns are communities with their own markets. Some are Members only.

4. Read the market before you buy

Each market page shows:

  • The price of each outcome, in cents. 42¢ means the market gives that outcome about a 42% chance.
  • The close time. You can buy until then.
  • Who resolves it, and from which source. Fermah Kernel resolves public markets. A Members only market is resolved by its creator, with no challenge and no appeal.
  • Whether it earns yield.

5. Buy

Pick an outcome, enter an amount and confirm. The ticket shows the shares you get and what they pay if you win.

  • There is no fee to buy. The price includes a small spread.
  • Max price move protects you if the price moves before your Buy lands. Choose 0.5%, 1% or 3% in Settings. The default is 3%. If the price moves further, nothing is spent.

6. Hold until the result

There is no sell button. Every position is held until the market resolves. So:

  • Only put in money you won't need before the close date.
  • Buying the other outcome later opens a second position. It doesn't cancel the first.

7. Get paid

On a public market, Fermah Kernel proposes the result and a challenge window opens. Anyone eligible can challenge a wrong result by posting a bond. When the window ends, the result is final.

Then Ultramint claims your payout for you and pays the gas. You don't have to come back.

  • Each winning share pays $1, less the settlement fee. The fee gets smaller as the market's volume grows, and everyone in a market pays the same rate. See Fees in plain words.
  • A losing share pays nothing.
  • A voided market refunds your stake with no fee.
  • A Buy placed after the outcome was already public is refunded in full, on either side. This keeps late buyers from trading on a known result.

To cash out, go to Funds, then Withdraw, and send USDC on Base to a wallet address you choose.
