Quick guide: Promoting markets
You bring buyers to a market and earn a share of its creator pool. You don't need to create anything, and you don't need anyone's approval.
1. Pick a market
Any public market can be promoted by anyone who is signed in and eligible. Choose markets your audience would actually want to trade. The more volume your link brings, the bigger your share.
2. Get your link
Open the market page and find Promote this market and earn a share of its fees. Tap Copy or Share. Your link works for that market and you can reuse it as often as you like.
3. Share it
Post it wherever your audience is. A Buy counts as yours when the buyer opens your link and buys in the same browser tab. See Your promoter link.
Your link changes nothing for the buyer. They pay the same price and the same settlement fee as without it.
4. What you earn
When the market resolves, the creator's share of what the market kept goes into its creator pool. Market Promoters are paid from that pool.
- Your share follows your volume. If your link brought a tenth of the market's total volume, you're owed a tenth of the creator pool.
- There is a cap. All promoters on a market together can take up to a set share of the pool. If the total goes over it, the cap is split between promoters by volume. The cap is fixed when the market is minted. The cap varies with current promotions. See Current promotions.
- You're paid automatically when the market's money is swept after resolution. Ultramint submits it and pays the gas.
A few markets pay nothing to promoters:
- A voided market.
- Up/Down rounds and Combos. They have no creator, so they have no creator pool.
5. Track it
- The Market Promoter board on the leaderboard ranks promoters by the volume their links brought and shows what each has been paid.
- You also earn Mint Points on Buys that come in through your link.
Play fair
Your own Buys through your own link don't count. Linked accounts, coordinated buying, bots and misleading posts to get attribution are not allowed and can cost you your rewards. See Terms of Service §6.14.
Another way to earn: fund a seed
A seed funder pays a creator's opening seed and resolution prepayment. The seed comes back after winners are paid, and you get a reward from the market's treasury share. The seed is at risk on a lopsided market. You see the exact terms before you fund. See Market Promoters and seed funders.
