Your spending limits
Two limits decide which Buys this device can approve for you without asking your wallet. They protect you if a device is lost or someone else uses it.
The two limits
| Limit | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Per quick Buy | $100 | A Buy of more than this amount asks for a wallet approval |
| Per day | $500 | Once quick Buys still counting add up to this, the next one asks for a wallet approval |
The day is rolling, not a calendar day, and nothing resets at midnight. Each quick Buy counts toward the limit for 24 to 25 hours after you make it, then frees up on its own. Your Security page shows what is available now and when the next amount frees up.
What counts toward the daily limit
Only quick Buys count. A Buy you approve in your wallet does not use up your daily limit, and neither does a withdrawal.
A Buy that would take you past the daily limit is not cut down or refused. It simply asks for a wallet approval. See How Buys are approved.
Choosing your own limits
You can set lower or higher limits, up to the protocol's maximum. The maximum is a protocol setting and can change, so the screen shows the current one. A lower limit means more wallet approvals and less automatic approval.
Changing your limits is itself one wallet approval. A request that reaches you from anywhere else cannot change them.
Where limits apply
Limits apply to quick Buys only, on markets ULTRAMINT created and the protocol resolves. They never apply to a market its creator resolves: a Buy there always asks your wallet, and the approval screen says who resolves it.
