Closing your account

You can close your account yourself from account settings at any time. It happens when you confirm; no support request is needed.

Your money must be out first

Closing is refused while your account still holds an open position, an unclaimed payout or a balance. It is also refused if we cannot confirm that it holds none, because a check that did not answer is not an empty account.

Positions are held to resolution and cannot be sold, so if an open position is in the way, closing becomes possible once that market resolves and the payout is claimed. This rule protects you, and we do not waive it.

The order is: wait for resolution, let the payout be claimed, withdraw, then close.

Closing does not delete your key

Your account is controlled by your signing key. Turnkey holds it, in a Turnkey account you co-own with an ULTRAMINT co-signer. We have never held the key.

Closing your account erases our own records, listed below, and removes the link between your ULTRAMINT account and that key. It does not delete the key or the account's address on Base, but after closing you cannot reach that key or that account through ULTRAMINT, and we cannot reconnect them to you.

Withdraw everything before you close. Anything sent to that address after you close cannot be reached through ULTRAMINT.

What is erased

  • Your email address, from our own database, straight away
  • Your email notification settings
  • Your watchlist and price alerts
  • Your notification tray and its delivery records
  • Your API keys and sessions
  • Your avatar, banner, bio and social links

What survives, and why

The confirmation screen lists this before you confirm, and the list comes from the server, so what you see is what happens.

Your display name is replaced, not deleted

Your handle appears on markets you minted and comments you left, which must keep displaying. It is therefore overwritten with a value that identifies nobody and cannot be traced back to your name. The markets and comments stay, with an anonymous author.

Signing in again gives you a new account and a new wallet

Signing in with the same email or Google account afterwards creates a new, empty account, with a new signing key and a new account address on Base. The old key and address are not reconnected. Your ULTRAMINT history, allowlist place and beta access do not carry over, and the closed account is not restored. The old address's history on the blockchain is still public.

Closing is not a release

Terms that survive the end of your account still apply, and closing does not cancel anything you owe. See the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, which describes the erasure in full.

Your rights are separate from this button

Closing your account is one route. Your rights to access, correct, erase, move and object to the use of your data are set out in the Privacy Policy and are exercised by writing to legal@ultramint.xyz.
