Yield on positions
Some markets earn yield on the money sitting in them. If a market does, every position gets a share, win or lose.
Which markets earn yield
The creator decides when minting. Each market is one of two:
- No vault. The default. No yield.
- Euler V2. While the market is open, its money sits in an Euler V2 vault on Base.
The market page shows which one before you buy. It can't change after minting.
How it's shared
Everyone who held a position shares the net yield, whichever outcome wins.
- Your share depends on the size of your stake and how long it was in the market. A late Buy only earns from when it joined.
- Yield is paid at resolution, with your payout.
- A losing position can still collect yield. A voided market shares any yield it earned too.
- A handling fee comes out of the yield, never your stake. See Fees in plain words.
You won't know how much yield a position will earn when you buy. It depends on the vault and how long the market runs.
Know the risks
- Yield varies. It can be zero. Nothing is guaranteed.
- Vaults can lose money. A loss hits what the market kept first, then the seed. A bigger loss cuts what holders are paid, winners included.
- Payouts can wait. The money has to come back from the vault before payouts go out. If that's delayed, so is your payout.
- Don't size up for yield. It's usually small next to your stake.
